Carrot "Detskaja sladost"
Carrot “Children's Sweetness” — Daucus carota.
Early-ripening carrot of the Amsterdam type. Root crops are cylindrical, blunt-tipped, weighing 90—130 g.
The core is small, the pulp is juicy, tender, sweet. Taste qualities are excellent. Yield 5—7 kg/m².
Recommended for growing for bunching production, as well as for making high-quality sweet juices and purees with a high carotene content — for children.
Make furrows with the pointed edge of the packaging.
Dose the seeds accurately when sowing.
Mark the sowing place after embedding the seeds in the soil.
Until the seedlings appear, we recommend covering the crops with a film to maintain optimal soil moisture. The optimal distance between plants is 20×5 cm.
Agricultural technique.
Sowing: in late April — in May, to a depth of 2—2.5 cm, between rows 15—20 cm. Before winter — the second half of October — early November, when the temperature drops to +5 °C.
The surface is mulched with peat to a depth of 1—2 cm. Fertile, sandy loam, or loamy soil is desirable.
The best predecessors for carrots: tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, legumes.
Care: after the emergence of seedlings, care consists of weeding, deep loosening, watering, and feeding. Carrots are thinned out 2 weeks after germination. The second thinning is at a root diameter of 1 cm, leaving 5—6 cm between plants.
